Silvia Trappa is a visual artist trained in Sculpture at Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara and later at Tokyo Zokei University. Her research moves between sculpture, drawing and installation, ex-ploring the tensions of contemporary life through references to history, myth and tradition, addressing re-curring themes such as childhood, the relationship between humans and nature, and the representation of the feminine. A distinctive feature of her practice is her use of diverse materials, which acquire semantic and symbolic value.
Part of her work is devoted to conceiving and directing educational and socially en-gaged projects, and since 2021 she has taught Illustration and Sculpture at LABA Academy of Fine Arts in Brescia.
She has been artist in residence in Italy, Japan, Mexico, and her works has been exhibited in museums and galleries across Europe, Usa and Japan, She has published books with Iki Editions (Hold me, 2019 – France) and MalEdizioni (Mr. Mountain and The Little Girl, 2021, A volte 2026 – Italy).
